Guts to Go Nuts! - Learning from Great Companies & Gutsy Leaders
This speech is loaded with unconventional, business best practices from Southwest Airlines and other great companies. These organizations are inspired by gutsy leaders who are willing to do whatever-it-takes to attract and keep great people. We all know competition for talented people is here to stay. It is critical that companies strive to become employers of choice - magnets for great talent. If you follow the Fortune lists, benchmark the best companies, and try to learn from the most admired organizations, you’ll soon discover there are no easy formulas for making a best or admired list. In fact, the competition is intensifying! However, companies that top such lists (and do so over the long haul) are companies that do not simply settle for good, do not settle for best in class, but rather, go for great! In this uplifting and highly practical speech Jackie shares proven business solutions to make your organization more competitive, more profitable and a more enjoyable place to work.

• Hire for attitude, train for skill
• Put employees first, customers second
• Re-recruit great people - create compelling reasons to stay
• Define your business as a cause - help people find the heroism in their work
• Communicate like crazy - create business literacy at all levels
• Equip people to think & act like owners
• Lighten up, loosen up, and make work more FUN

Culture! - Branding from the Inside-Out
Today, more and more organizations consider culture a bottom line issue. After all, whether it is positive or negative, purposeful or accidental, culture impacts bottom line measures - recruiting and retaining talented people, service, productivity, efficiency, and safety. In this presentation, Jackie shows you how some of the most admired corporate cultures in America, such as Southwest Airlines, SAS Institute, USS Benfold, Synovus Financial, and Ernst & Young, have purposefully created legendary cultures - places where people want to work and choose to stay! The message is rich with examples, how-tos, and creative ideas that you can borrow from or replicate. The goal is to help leaders at all levels create a place where people love to work and customers love to do business.

• Legendary culture and unconventional ideas
• If you build it they will come - create a place where people love to work
• Little things make a BIG difference - building your brand from the inside out
• Perks - what really matters?
• Party! Celebrate what you value
• Learn to tell your story - create spontaneous testimonies from delighted customers
• Keeping the culture alive - leverage the power of a culture committee
